Yeah, okay, Zelda Tuffin is a pseudonym and is as fictional a character as the ones in her books, but it’s nice having an author alter ego to play around with. The image of Zelda and her name tickles my sense of humor and love of writing; blended with a bit of perfectionistic idealism and the trend of Instagram bookcase backgrounds that depicts the artistic, slightly dark hoarding of books, but passing it off as a collection of the mystic that I rather fancy for myself. 

And now the truth

The truth is somewhat less inspiring but as I have no intention of revealing my real name right now, so instead I’ll offer up the following truths for the time being – I have been an erotic romance ghost-writer for several years and have hundreds of short stories under my belt. However, the time has come for me to try the self-publishing route. I would like to branch out of the standard modern romance trope and explore my own creativity in other sub-genres including fantasy and multiple choice…but with sex. As such my identity will remain hidden for now as I kind of like the anonymity of ghost-writing and with these stories in particular, a pen name allows me to add a bit more spice into the mix whilst being comfortable in the knowledge that family and friends won’t stumble into my more…ahem…animated imaginings. 

I’ll confess to also enjoying dark chocolate, rose wine, and bubble baths but you can make of that what you will.

What I look for in a good romance

For my reading pleasure, I love a strong, intelligent female lead, with the ability to look after herself, speak her mind and with enough beauty to entice her man, whilst maintaining her sense of self. You won’t find any cotton-headed damsels in distress here…unless it suits my purpose of course. 

In the role of the handsome suitor, I adore a roguish type, something of a gentleman with faults enough to make one believe they can change him. He has to be honest at heart, lovable and genuinely cares for his lady, with enough passion to show her the depth of his desires. But if he’s a bit of a bastard sometimes that’s okay too.
